About Fluenstra

The short answers people ask first.

What is Fluenstra?

Fluenstra is an English communication platform built for freelancers who work with international clients. You practise a real client call out loud with an AI client that pushes back like a real buyer, you get an honest written report on how you spoke, and you can then work through your weak points with a native English teacher who has already read that report. Fluenstra is not a grammar app and not an English course. It is call practice for the specific conversations that decide whether you win a project.

Who is Fluenstra for?

Fluenstra is built for freelancers and remote professionals whose first language is not English and who lose work on live calls rather than on skill. That includes web developers, graphic designers, video editors, writers, digital marketers, social media managers, virtual assistants and small agency owners, mostly working with clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Europe. It was designed first for freelancers in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Nigeria, and anyone with the same problem is welcome.

What problem does Fluenstra solve?

Most freelancers who lose an international client on a call did not lose it on skill. They lost it because they froze on a question, apologised before saying their price, could not explain their value quickly, or wrote long messages to avoid getting on a call at all. Fluenstra gives you a place to have that conversation badly, on purpose, before it costs you money.

How is Fluenstra different from an English course or a speaking app?

An English course teaches you the language. Fluenstra rehearses the conversation. There are no lessons, no grammar drills and no vocabulary lists. You practise one specific situation, for example a client saying your price is too high, and you get feedback only on what you actually said in that call. The AI client interrupts, pushes back and changes direction, which is the part a scripted lesson cannot reproduce.

How is Fluenstra different from using ChatGPT?

ChatGPT makes you type, waits patiently and agrees with you. A real client speaks fast, interrupts, and does not wait while you think. In Fluenstra you speak out loud with your own voice while an AI client behaves like a buyer with an opinion, then you get a scored report on how you handled it, and a human teacher can work through your weak moments afterwards. It is the difference between reading about a match and playing one.

What does the name Fluenstra mean?

Fluenstra comes from fluency. It is a made up brand name, so if a search engine suggests something similar sounding like flustar, that is a different product entirely. Fluenstra is spelled F, L, U, E, N, S, T, R, A and the only official website is fluenstra.com.

Where is Fluenstra based?

Fluenstra is built and operated from Dhaka, Bangladesh, and serves freelancers worldwide. The teachers work remotely from the United States and the United Kingdom. You can reach the team at hello@fluenstra.com.

Is Fluenstra an app I have to download?

No. Fluenstra runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install and nothing to update. You need a working microphone, a reasonable internet connection and a modern browser such as Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.

Practice calls

How the AI client works and what happens during a call.

What is a practice call?

A practice call is a spoken conversation between you and an AI client, roughly six minutes long. You answer a few questions about your service and your clients, Fluenstra builds a client with a name, a company, a country and a personality, and then the call connects. You speak with your voice, the client answers out loud, and the whole thing behaves like a live meeting rather than a quiz.

Do I speak, or do I type?

You speak. Out loud, with your own voice, exactly as you would on a real call. That is the entire point. Typing practice does not help you when a client is waiting for an answer and you can hear yourself hesitating. If your microphone fails or you are somewhere you cannot speak, Fluenstra will offer a typing fallback so the session is not wasted, but voice is the default.

How long is a practice call?

About six minutes. Long enough for a real back and forth with several turns, short enough to fit into a break. You can end the call earlier if you need to, though a call needs at least a couple of your answers before Fluenstra will write a report.

What scenarios can I practise?

The built in scenarios are the six conversations freelancers lose most often:

  • Discovery call. A new client wants to understand what you do and decide whether to hire you.
  • Price objection. The client likes your work and says you are too expensive.
  • Scope creep. The client keeps adding one more small thing to the project.
  • Difficult client. Impatient, frustrated and unclear about what they actually want.
  • Upsell. A happy client on a check in call, with room to offer more.
  • Follow up. They received your proposal days ago and went silent.
You can also build a practice call from a real client conversation, which is described below.

Who is the AI client I speak to?

A client generated for you, with a name, a company, a country and a brief. The client is told how to behave for your chosen scenario, so a price objection client will actually push on cost and mention cheaper options, and a difficult client will be hard to pin down without being rude. The client reacts to what you actually said rather than reading from a script, and will gently push if your answer is vague.

Can I practise a call with my real client?

Yes, and this is the feature most members use second. Paste a real conversation from Upwork, Fiverr, WhatsApp or email into Maya, or send a screenshot of it, then tap to practise. Fluenstra reads that conversation and builds an AI client from the real one: the same worry, the same pressure, the same money, safe to fail against. You can also turn any Community post into a practice call the same way.

What if my English is very weak? Is this too early for me?

If you can read this page you can start. The AI client speaks clearly, waits for you, never laughs and never sighs. Most people are nervous on their first call and noticeably calmer by the fourth. If speaking out loud still feels like too big a step today, start in the Community by reading how other freelancers answered the same client message, and practise when you are ready.

What happens if I freeze or say nothing?

Nothing bad. The client waits. If a long silence goes by, Fluenstra simply reopens the microphone and you can try again. If you leave the call almost immediately, Fluenstra will not write a report, because a report built from one sentence would be an invented one and Fluenstra does not invent reports.

How many practice calls do I get?

The plan includes 12 practice calls a month, which is about three a week. They reset at the start of each month. If you do not use them, nothing is lost from your history, you simply start the new month with a fresh 12.

Can I practise the same scenario more than once?

Yes, and you should. Repeating the same scenario with a different client is how the improvement actually shows up. You will get a different client each time, so the conversation is never identical.

Can the AI client interrupt me?

The client reacts to what you say and will push on a vague answer, change direction, or ask something you were not expecting, in the way a real buyer does. Practising with something that does not simply agree with you is the point of the exercise.

Call reports and Client Replay

What you get after the call, and what the numbers mean.

What is in a call report?

A report is written from the transcript of the call you just had, not from a template. It contains an overall score, a short honest summary addressed to you by name, what went well, what to work on, stronger phrasing for specific things you said, phrases worth practising, and the most important moments of the call with a better answer for each one. Every quote in it comes from the call itself.

What is Client Replay?

Client Replay picks out the three to six moments in the call that mattered most, the moments where you did something well or clearly missed an opportunity. For each one you see what the client asked, what you actually said, why that moment mattered and a stronger answer. You can play the client's line again and record a better answer on the spot.

What is Improve my answer?

Inside any Client Replay moment you can record a second attempt at the same question. Fluenstra compares your original answer with the new one, scores both on confidence and clarity, and tells you honestly what changed. If the new answer is not actually better, it says so and scores it lower. That is the fastest single exercise on the platform.

How is my score calculated?

The score is an experienced coach's judgement of one specific conversation, generated from the full transcript of what you actually said. It looks at how confidently you answered, how clearly you explained your value, the vocabulary you reached for and how professional you sounded under pressure. It is a guide, not an examination. Scores move between calls because conversations differ, so read the written feedback first and treat the number as a direction rather than a grade.

Does Fluenstra score my pronunciation, and will it change my accent?

The report includes an indicator for how clearly you came across, based on the transcript of the call. It is not a certified pronunciation test and it does not replace one. Fluenstra does not try to remove anyone's accent, and it should not. Clients do not need you to sound American. They need to understand you and to hear that you are sure of what you are saying.

Can I download my report?

Yes. Every report can be downloaded as a PDF from your dashboard, and it is yours to keep, share with a teacher, or read again before your next real call.

How long are my reports kept?

Your reports and call history stay in your account for as long as your account is open, so you can look back at your first call months later and see the difference. You can ask for everything to be deleted at any time by writing to hello@fluenstra.com.

What if I miss a month?

Nothing is lost. Your reports, your history and your progress stay in your account. Your practice calls reset and you continue from where you stopped.

Maya, your communication coach

What Maya can do, and what she is.

Who is Maya?

Maya is Fluenstra's AI communication coach and assistant. She replies in Bangla and helps with one thing only: communicating with international clients. You can send her a client message, an email, a proposal or a screenshot, and she will tell you what the client actually means, what they are worried about underneath, what should worry you in that message, and give you a reply in clean professional English that you can send.

Is Maya a real person?

No. Maya is an AI assistant built by Fluenstra. She is given a name and a personality so that asking her something feels less like filling in a form, but there is no human reading your messages when you chat with her. If you would rather write to a person, email hello@fluenstra.com and a human will answer.

What language does Maya speak?

Maya replies in Bangla, always, using the formal আপনি. You can write to her in Bangla, in English, or in Banglish such as "client amake price niye push korche" and she will understand. When she writes a message for you to send to a client, that message is in clean professional English, kept separate from her Bangla explanation.

Can Maya read a screenshot of my client chat?

Yes. Upload a screenshot of an Upwork chat, a WhatsApp thread, an email or a project brief and Maya will read it. Screenshots go into private storage that only you can open, through a link that expires. There is a small daily limit on uploads to keep the service fast for everybody.

Does Maya remember me?

Yes, and that memory belongs to you. She remembers durable things that help her coach you later, for example which platform you work on, what kind of client you deal with and what you find hardest. She does not keep the passing details of one question.

Can I see and delete what Maya remembers?

Yes. Open the Brain in your account and you can read every single line she has kept, delete any individual line, delete everything at once, or switch memory off completely. When memory is off she knows nothing about you beyond the conversation in front of her, and she will not pretend otherwise.

What will Maya not help with?

Anything outside client communication. She will politely decline homework, coding, medical or legal questions, politics, news and general trivia, and point you back to what she can help with. She will also never promise you income, clients or results.

The Community

The members only space inside Fluenstra.

What is the Fluenstra Community?

A private space inside Fluenstra where members post the client message they are stuck on and other freelancers say how they handled the same thing. Every discussion can be turned into a spoken practice call in one tap, and there is a new communication challenge every day.

Can my clients see what I post?

No. The Community is visible only to logged in Fluenstra members. It is not on Google, it is not indexed by search engines, and no client of yours can find it.

Can I post without showing my name?

Yes. You choose a username that does not have to be your real name, and you can hide your name completely on any single post or reply. Nobody should feel embarrassed asking how to answer a client.

How is advice ranked in the Community?

By whether it actually helped somebody, not by how many likes it collected. Answers that other members marked as helpful, and answers that people went on to practise, rise. The loudest post does not win.

Is the Community included in the plan?

Yes, at no extra cost. It is part of every Fluenstra account.

Teacher sessions

How the human half of Fluenstra works.

Who are the teachers?

Native English teachers based in the United States and the United Kingdom, with experience coaching professionals on business and client communication rather than exam preparation.

What makes a Fluenstra teacher session different?

The teacher reads your practice call reports before the session starts. You do not spend the first twenty minutes explaining what you find difficult, because they already know. The session begins at your actual weak point.

How do I book a teacher session?

Teacher sessions are being scheduled personally at the moment while we onboard our first members. Write to hello@fluenstra.com with the times that suit you and your timezone, and we will arrange it and send you the meeting link. Automated booking is coming.

How many sessions are included?

The plan includes two live teacher sessions a month.

Do I need to prepare for a teacher session?

Do at least one practice call first, so there is a real report for the teacher to read. Beyond that, bring the conversation you are actually worried about.

Plan, price and payment

What it costs and how billing works.

How much does Fluenstra cost?

Fluenstra is one plan at $49 a month. There are no levels, no upsells and no hidden lesson fees. It includes 12 AI practice calls, a full report after every call, Maya as your private communication coach, the members only Community with a daily challenge, two live teacher sessions and your full progress history.

Is $49 worth it?

That is a fair question to ask, and the honest answer depends on what one client project pays you. If a single project you win is worth several hundred dollars, one won project covers many months. Fluenstra will not promise you clients. What it can do is stop language from being the reason you lose them.

How do I pay?

We are onboarding our first members personally, so payment is arranged directly with us rather than through an automatic checkout. Create your account, then write to hello@fluenstra.com and we will set it up and confirm it in writing.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time, with no contract and no cancellation fee. Write to hello@fluenstra.com and your plan stops at the end of the period you have paid for. Your reports and history stay in your account.

Is there a free trial?

If you want to see how a practice call feels before you pay, write to hello@fluenstra.com and tell us what you do. We would rather show you than argue with you.

Do you offer refunds?

If something went wrong on our side, write to hello@fluenstra.com and we will make it right. We would rather fix the problem than keep money from somebody who did not get what they paid for.

Account, privacy and your data

What Fluenstra stores and who can see it.

What data does Fluenstra keep about me?

Your account details, the transcripts and reports of your practice calls, anything you send to Maya including screenshots you upload, the facts Maya remembers about your work, and anything you post in the Community. It is all set out in full in the Privacy Policy.

Who can see my practice calls?

Only you. Practice calls, reports and Maya conversations are private to your account and are protected by security rules inside the database, not just by the design of the pages. Teachers see your reports only when you book a session with them, which is the point of the session.

Does Fluenstra record my voice?

Your speech is recorded during a practice call so it can be transcribed into text, which is what makes the report possible. The transcript is stored with your report. Fluenstra does not sell your voice, your transcripts or anything else to anybody.

Can I delete my account and everything in it?

Yes. Write to hello@fluenstra.com from the email address on your account and we will delete your account and the data attached to it. If you only want Maya to forget what she knows about you, you can do that yourself from the Brain in your account, instantly.

Is it safe to paste a real client conversation?

Screenshots and pasted conversations go into private storage that only your account can open, through links that expire. That said, use your judgement. If a document is under a confidentiality agreement with your client, do not upload it, and remove anything you would not want stored, such as bank details or passwords.

Does Fluenstra use my conversations to train AI models?

No. Your calls, reports and messages are used to run Fluenstra for you, not to train models.

Technical help

When something is not working.

What do I need to use Fluenstra?

A device with a microphone, a modern browser and a reasonable internet connection. Headphones or earphones are strongly recommended, because they stop the client's voice from being picked up by your own microphone. A quiet room helps but is not essential.

Does Fluenstra work on a phone?

Yes. It works on Android and iPhone in the browser. Use headphones if you can, and keep the browser tab open and the screen on during the call.

Why is Fluenstra asking to test my microphone before the call?

Because most bad first calls are caused by hardware, not by English. Before you join, Fluenstra checks that your microphone is allowed and working, that your speaker plays sound, and that your speech can actually be transcribed. The Join button stays locked until all three pass, and the check also tunes the app to the background noise in your room.

The app cannot hear me. What should I do?

Check that your browser has permission to use the microphone, that no other app such as Zoom or WhatsApp is holding it, and that you are not on mute at the system level. Move somewhere quieter, bring the microphone closer, and run the pre call check again. If it still fails, you can switch to typing for that call and write to hello@fluenstra.com.

There is no sound from the client. What should I do?

Phones sometimes block audio until you tap the screen. If that happens a small button appears during the call to turn the client's voice on. Tap it, check your volume and your silent switch, and make sure your headphones are properly connected.

Which browsers are supported?

Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone both work. Very old browsers and unusual in app browsers, such as opening a link inside another application, are the most common cause of microphone problems. If a call misbehaves, open fluenstra.com directly in your normal browser.

My internet dropped during a call. What happens?

Finish or end the call and start again when your connection is stable. If something went wrong on our side and you lost a practice call because of it, write to hello@fluenstra.com and we will put it back.

Still stuck

How to reach a human.

How do I contact Fluenstra?

Write to hello@fluenstra.com for anything at all: support, billing, teacher sessions, partnerships or press. It is the only email address Fluenstra uses and a human answers it. You can also message us on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn.

How quickly do you reply?

Within one working day, usually sooner. If you write in Bangla, we will reply in Bangla.

Reading about it will not fix the call.

Practise the conversation you are actually worried about, then read the report.
